Hammedatha, ham-med'-a-tha (Heb. fr. Pers.)--who troubles the law; agitator of the law.

An Agagite, father of "Haman son of Hammedatha, the Jews' enemy" (Esth. 9:10, 24).

Meta. Agag is the Adversary--the ruling ego of the adverse, carnal consciousness in man. Hammedatha, father of Haman, "the Jews' enemy." signifies a phase of the carnal, adverse consciousness (Adversary) in man, which works against the law of Being(who troubles the law, agitator of the law), more particularly as it relates to man's religious thoughts and tendencies, man's highest intellectual and spiritual beliefs and aspirations (the Jews).
