Metaphysical meaning of Horites (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Horites (mbd)
Horites (A. V., Genesis 36:30, Hori; Deuteronomy 2:12, Horims), ho'-rites (fr. Heb.)--troglodytes; cave dwellers; dwellers in black holes.

The Horites were very closely connected with the Edomites, the descendants of Esau. They were the inhabitants of the land of Mount Seir, before they were overcome by Esau. After that they lived in the land with the Edomites (Gen. 14:6). (See also Genesis 36.)

Meta. The Horites, like the Edomites, have their seat of action in the physical organism. The Horites refer more especially to the deep-seated, subconscious (cave dwellers), error, fleshly tendencies and activities of the physical in man, while the Edomites refer more to the outer or body consciousness.
