Mattenai, mat-te'-nai (Heb.)--liberality; generosity; gift of Jehovah; gift of Jah.

a Two Israelites who had taken foreign wives after returning from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 10:33, 37). b A priest (Neh. 12:19).

Meta. The significance is almost the same as that of MATTATTAH, which see. In Mattenai there is also a thought of divine forgiveness--an erasing of error from consciousness (liberality, generosity)--which increases the individual's belief in the attainment of the good that he has perceived.
