Metaphysical meaning of Siloam (mbd)
Siloam, si-lo'-am (Gk. fr. Heb.)--sending forth; one sent; messenger.
a Luke 13:4 tells of "the tower in Siloam." b A pool, in which Jesus told the blind man to wash after He put clay on his eyes (John 9:7-11). It is called Shiloah in Isaiah 8:6, and Shelah in Nehemiah 3:15.
Meta. One sent, sending forth, or putting away. "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" means to deny away the false idea. We are to deny the universal race belief in the reality and power of matter, and to affirm the spirituality of all substance.
