Metaphysical meaning of Tilon (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Tilon (mbd)
Tilon, ti'-lon (Heb.)--hung up; suspended; pendulous; balanced; obstinate; stubborn; murmuring; scorning; mocking; gift. The foregoing definitions come from three different Hebrew roots. The definitions that are most likely to be correct are those from obstinate to mocking.

Son of Shimon, of the tribe of Judah (I Chron. 4:20).

Meta. The almost universal tendency of individuals to grumble and complain (murmuring) because of things as they appear. The tendency also to resist inwardly (obstinate, stubborn) the Spirit that holds sway in one, even after one has accepted Truth to some degree. Thus one's realization and manifestation of good are delayed (hung up, suspended). We must all learn to put away complaining and doubting; we must ever praise God for the good that we desire, that is ours all the time in Spirit. Thus do we make ourselves open and receptive to the things of Spirit, to the good that will become manifest to us as we lay hold of it with thanksgiving.
