Metaphysical meaning of Tiras (mbd)
Tiras, ti-ras (Heb.)--formative faculty; determination of forms; thought; imagination; conception; desire; longing.

Youngest of the seven sons of Japheth, son of Noah (Gen. 10:2).

Meta. The formative faculty of man, the imagination, made active in the mind of the individual by the inner longing of the soul (desire), which ever leads to unfoldment Godward. As the seventh son of Japheth, Tiras signifies a certain fullness or completeness of that for which Japheth stands, the mental phase of man's being. The power to think, to image in the mind, is the formative power in man. In its highest aspect the formative faculty or imagination is a spiritual quality.
