Barachel, bar'-a-chel (Heb.)--God doth bless; blessed of God; prospered of God; peace of God; whom God hath blessed; kneels before God; bows before God. The primitive meaning back of this word is that of kneeling, one's prostration of self before another, self-abnegation--symbolized in the bended knee.

Father of Elihu the Buzite (Job X2:2).

Meta. A truly humble and obedient attitude of mind toward God (kneels before God, bows before God) that is always in divine favor (blessed of God, prospered of God).
