Metaphysical meaning of El-paran (mbd)
El-paran, el-pa'-ran (Heb.)--terebinth of Paran; oak of Paran; strength of Paran; oak of the region of the caves.

"The Horites in their mount Seir, unto El-paran, which is by the wilderness" (Gen. 14:6) were defeated by Chedorlaomer, king of Elam. They had been serving him but had rebelled against him.

Meta. The seeming strength of the multitude of man's confused and undisciplined subconscious thoughts and energies, which Paran symbolizes, given over to the furtherance of sense expression. (See PARAN and CHEDORLAOMER.)
