Metaphysical meaning of Pallu (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Pallu (mbd)
Pallu (in A.V., Genesis 46:9, Phallu), pal'-lu (Heb.)--separated; distinguished; set apart; great; famous; distinctive; wonderful; marvelous; extraordinary.

Son of Reuben (I Chron. 5:3).

Meta. Reuben, the first-born of the sons of Jacob, represents the first bringing forth of sight, discernment, faith. The meaning of the name is "behold a son!" The idea is that of seeing. "And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Because Jehovah hath looked upon my affliction" (Gen. 29:32). This first bringing forth of sight, of the ability to see or discern higher and more interior things pertaining to Truth, is not really spiritual but is more of the outer man. However, it is a big step in advance of anything that the individual has known before, and it bears fruit (Pallu, meaning set apart, distinguished, great, wonderful, marvelous, famous). Pallu signifies the great general uplift that comes to the consciousness that has begun to awaken out of the purely sense, carnal, animal phase of thought to a higher and truer concept of God and of life.
