Metaphysical meaning of Pedahzur (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Pedahzur (mbd)
Pedahzur, pe-däh'-zur (Heb.)--the rock has redeemed; the rock of deliverance; stone of redemption.

Father of Gamaliel, a prince of the tribe of Manasseh (Num. 2:20).

Meta. Faith in Christ as the redeeming, saving power of the individual (the rock has redeemed, rock of deliverance, stone of redemption, suggesting Christ and faith). Jesus said to Peter, "Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church." Peter means a stone, and symbolizes the faith faculty in man; "this rock" is the indwelling Christ, and the "church" is spiritual consciousness. In I Corinthians 10:4 we read, "and the rock was Christ"; this was the rock that supplied water to the Children of Israel during their journeyings in the wilderness.
