Metaphysical meaning of Quartus (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Quartus (mbd)
Quartus, quâr'-tus (Lat.)--fourth.

A Christian at Corinth who sent salutation by Paul to the Romans (Rom. 16:23). From his name he is thought to have been a Roman.

Meta. A positive, spiritually enlightened thought that relates to the foursquare (fourth) or perfectly rounded consciousness of the individual. "And the city lieth foursquare, . . . the length and the breadth and the height thereof are equal" (Rev. 21:16).

This thought that Quartus signifies is of the head, the reasoning faculty in man unified with the personal will (he is thought to have been a Roman), and is now established in love (a dweller in Corinth, Corinth referring to the love center in consciousness). Quartus therefore bespeaks the elevating of these two phases of man, the head and the heart, understanding and affection, to the plane of spiritual wisdom and love, and the unifying of them in consciousness. This is what makes a perfect balance in the individual. makes him "foursquare."

Quartus, meaning fourth and being a Christian at Corinth, also suggests the bringing of the fourth dimension, omnipresence, into man's comprehension.
