Metaphysical meaning of Shashak (mbd)
Shashak, sha'-shak (Heb.)--running to and fro; pedestrian; seeker; prayer; assaulter; eagerness; vehement desire; ravenous appetite; longing; yearning; thirst. Son of Beriah of the tribe of Benjamin (I Chron. 8:14).

Meta. An intense desire for good, but unfulfilled because of running to and fro in the outer, because of seeking in the outer only. That which Shashak signifies lacks poise, self-mastery, concentration. It does not seek the Spirit of truth in quietness and confidence. Violence enters into the activity of this great desire in its efforts to attain the fulfillment of the good that it is seeking; understanding is needed.
