Metaphysical meaning of Shepher (mbd)
Shepher (A. V., Shapher), she'-pher (Heb.)--smooth; polished; bright; shining; brilliant; fair; pleasant; beautiful; splendid; pleasing; acceptable; clear; sonorous.
Mount Shepher was a place where the Children of Israel camped while in the wilderness, on their way to the Promised Land (Num. 33:23).
Meta. Shepher bespeaks the refining, transforming work of Spirit that goes on when man gives it place in consciousness. "By his Spirit the heavens are garnished" (Job 26:13), i. e., are rendered bright, splendid, beautiful. Jesus' prayer, "Thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth" (Matt. 6:10), bespeaks the restoration of the earth also.
