Metaphysical meaning of Sosthenes (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Sosthenes (mbd)
Sosthenes, sos'-the-nes (Gk.)--of sound strength; strong savior; secure in strength.

A ruler of the synagogue in Corinth, who was beaten by the Jews before the judgment seat (Acts 18:17).

Meta. A strong, healthful, saving, redeeming thought activity in the higher consciousness of man (of sound strength, sound suggesting health, wholeness, strong savior), or the idea of Christ as the saving, redeeming principle in man and as the unfailing strength of one's life (secure in strength). The Jews (old, established formal, religious thoughts) do not accept the true concept and presence of the Christ consciousness, but denounce and seek to destroy it.
