Metaphysical meaning of Zanoah (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Zanoah (mbd)
Zanoah, za–no'–ah (Heb.)--s pit out; spittle; foul; rancid; stinking; vile; cast out; rejected; deserted; stagnant stream; marsh; bog; swamp.

The name of two cities of Judah, one in the lowland and the other in the hill country (Josh. 15:34, 56). One of these cities evidently was founded by Jekuthiel (I Chron. 4:18).

Meta. Groups of thoughts that belong to or are associated with the high, spiritual phase of consciousness in man (cities of Judah), but have corrupted themselves by centering in personality instead of Spirit. Thus stagnation ensues (spit out, foul, rancid, cast out, and so forth). "If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered." "If the salt have lost its savor, . . . it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under foot of men."
