Metaphysical meaning of mansions (mbd)
mansions, many (John 14:2).
Meta. Degrees of realization of the Truth of Being; the "place" prepared by Jesus is a definite state of realization of Truth into which may come all who faithfully take up the same denials and affirmations that He took up.
Those familiar with the power of man to establish in consciousness certain mental states easily perceive how it might be possible for one with the spiritual power of Jesus to fix right in our midst a place of harmony and peace (or heaven) into which may enter all who follow Him in mental discipline. "I go to prepare a place for you . . . that where I am, there ye may be also." This place can be entered right here and now, and to enter this state of consciousness is to become conscious of heaven.
