Metaphysical meaning of Tiberias (mbd)

Metaphysical meaning of Tiberias (mbd)
Tiberias, ti-be'-ri-as (Lat.)--good vision; observance; ostium, i. e., pertaining to the mouth; an opening.

A city on the western shore of Lake Gennesaret, or the Sea of Galilee. This lake was called "the sea of Tiberias," also (John 6:1, 23).

Meta. Spiritual insight into things, discernment (good vision, observance), and its orderly expression in thought and word (ostium, i. e., pertaining to the mouth, an opening).

In the feeding of the multitude (John 6:1-14) Jesus represents the I AM identity in every one. Galilee signifies action, which is the first step in every demonstration. Do not expect results unless you act with promptness and order (Tiberias). The "great multitude" is composed of your own hungry thoughts. They want the influx of the truths of Spirit into consciousness. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word proceeding out of the mouth of God. You go up into "the mountain" (state of spiritual realization) and there rest with your disciples (faculties). You are then near a consciousness of divine ideas (Jews) and their fullness of supply (feast).

(See GENNESARET and GALILEE, for the significance of the Sea of Tiberias.)
